Online Jobs work from home or anywhere you want. In today's world, it's more important than ever to have many irons in the fire. I know what it's like to be at the mercy of an employer.

I've worked 9 to 5 jobs as a mental health counselor for many years. It feels like a treadmill: You exchange hours of your life for a salary. Some of those hours involve commuting when you don't get paid for your time. A lot of those hours involve extra paperwork on your own time that you don't get paid for, either.

I grew up in a time when I was taught that the proper order of things was: 1. Go to school and get a degree. 2. Apply for jobs. Get your foot in the door somewhere and work your way up. 3. Save money so you can retire someday. 4. Retire with enough money to last you the rest of your days.

I went into psychology with good intentions - to help people feel better. While I believe I have helped many of my clients over the years, neglecting my own self-care has not done me any favors. When you're stuck on the work treadmill, it's easy to become resentful over time.

About 10 years ago, I decided to explore other, more passive ways of making money. I thought there must be a way to still help people while helping myself get off the treadmill of the daily grind. 

I wanted to start a stress management blog. I kept reading incredible stories about how people were making money online with their blogs. So, I thought this would be perfect for me. 

I'm all about stress management and thought starting a blog would be a way to really share the work that I love with others. This was NOT easy... at first.

I started my online journey and absolutely no one read my blog...except family members...and only when I was with them to show them my latest post.

I was so discouraged. This was going to be a lot harder than I thought. 

I started doing my own online research to try to figure out how to make this work. You can imagine how that went! I needed the paid version of WordPress. I needed a domain name. I needed this plugin and that plugin. I needed to get a system for keyword research, etc., etc. etc.

It became so time-consuming and cost prohibitive that I simply gave up. Meanwhile, all over the internet, I kept seeing these annoying "influencers" who had their "tribes," "viral videos," and so on. Ugh!!!

But, you know how passion goes...the heart wants what the heart wants, and I still wanted to share stress management insights and have the freedom of working online.

I did some sort of weird Google search like: How can I have a blog if I have no influence online whatsoever?

Automation is key!!!

Since starting my website, I've really come to appreciate the importance of automation. The more you can automate, the more time you can spend on your business rather in your business.

So, about a year ago now, I discovered a wonderful complement to my online business: 12 Minute Affiliate.

Throughout my website, I recommend certain tools and products to my readers. These are all products I've tested myself and that I feel add value for people. The 12 Minute Affiliate platform has enabled me to automate my suggestions and offerings, streamlining my efforts.

The results? I have 10X my business over the course of the last 12 months!

I'll admit, I'm a bit on the lazy side. So, this added automation process has made my online business even easier than it already was. 

I can honestly say that between SBI! and 12 Minute Affiliate, I have created a passive income online - or at least as passive as it gets!

I only wish I had all this in place from the very beginning, but I guess you can only do what you know at the time. If I can spare you some guess work and a steep learning curve, then that makes me happy.

Life is too short to be stuck on the treadmill of an unhappy job.

These days, I still meet with people in-person or online to have hypnotherapy sessions, but I no longer feel as though I must do this in order to make an income. I offer my hypnotherapy services because I really love it! 

It's amazing how you feel free to do anything you like when you know you're generating income passively.
