Hopeless Outlook
People who are depressed often experience feelings of hopelessness. This isn’t the same for everyone, though. Some people who feel depressed feel like they aren’t worth anything. Others feel like everything is such an effort all the time, but either way, it all comes down to the same thing. Some people might also feel as though they feel lonely or isolated, or choose to do so based on the feelings that they are having. If you feel this way, or if you are starting to feel as though there is no point in anything, and that you could do with a bit of extra help, then now is the time for you to open up and talk to someone. If you do, then you may feel as though a big weight has been lifted, and this can help you more than you realize. If you have asked for help before and not felt fully supported, then now could be the time for you to look into an IOP for depression.
Loss of Interest
Another sign that you may be depressed is if you are losing interest in everything. Depression can take the fun out of everything, and if you start to feel a loss of interest in things, then this is a big sign that you need to do something about it. Telling people and talking about it is one of the best things you can do, as it allows you to get anything that you may be struggling with off your chest. It’s fine for you to take a break from any regular activities for a while too, but with that said, you do need to make sure that you don’t have a break for too long, because it’s good to try and maintain the things you do every week, and to stay in touch with friends.
Sleep Issues
If you are experiencing sleep issues, then this is another big sign of depression. If you notice that you are sleeping too much in the day, or that you are sleeping far too little, then this cab be a sign that you need to try and do something about that. As people get older, they tend to feel more tired during the day, and this is normal. If you know that your tiredness isn’t normal or if you feel as though it’s not reflecting the activities you’re doing in the day, then this is a big sign that something has to change. Speak to your doctor or tell your support network so they can be there for you.
