Staying Stress Free When You're a Bit Busy

Stress is something that affects us all - it can grind us right down, turn us into shivering wrecks when it gets too bad, and it can have a long term effect on our health and wellbeing. 

And that’s why it’s key to be able to practice stress busting techniques at all times throughout our lives, even when you’re busy. You shouldn’t have to wait until you get home from work to finally shake that anxious and edgy feeling, and you shouldn’t need to take a half hour break from what you’re stuck into to try and beat it either. 

So, with that in mind, here are some ways to stay as stress free as possible when you’re super busy and just can’t take 5.


Before We Begin


Stress is commonly caused by issues that are going on in our lives, so if you are finding yourself struggling to keep your stress levels to a minimum it might be time to start prioritizing your life a little more. Practice Your Breathing

Be in the Moment with Your Senses

Your senses might overwhelm you at times, or you might want to turn them off to get some peace and quiet when you’re at work or in the middle of a crowd, but they can also help you when you’re feeling stressed. 

Focus on them one at a time in a slow order - What can you see? What can you hear? What can you smell? Can you taste anything? And then focus on how your clothes or your backpack feels on your skin, or how the floor feels beneath your feet, to help yourself feel grounded again. 


Always Stretch it Out

And finally, be sure to stretch from time to time. Once again, this can be down when sitting or standing, and can do a lot for any pent up stress or energy you’re carrying in your muscles. Let the blood flow throughout your body again, and make sure you’re not sitting on ‘dead’ feeling muscles that only serve to drive you crazier right now! 

Staying stress free, when you’re otherwise incredibly busy and have no time to spare, can be very, very hard.
